In 2023, the music video “Bota o Cavalo Pra Correr” by Brazilian artist Doralyce was released. I had the unique opportunity to delve into valuable archival footage that had been untouched for years. Faced with an undefined video script, I enlisted my friend Gabriel Rischbieter to refine the script and provide art direction. Together, we navigated the complexities of editing and post-production. The song draws on themes from the Afro-Brazilian religion “Umbanda,” and the video features special guest Conceição Evaristo, infusing it with Afro-futuristic elements and extensive post-production work to enhance its narrative impact.
